To celebrate our Silver Jubilee, we embarked on an exciting journey of problem solving using the Rubik’s Cube. We set up cubing corner in school. All staff and students receive a customised 25th Anniversary Rubik’s Cube. We learned how to cube through workshops conducted by Mofunland and following online tutorials. From novices to enthusiasts, each of us delved into the intricacies of algorithms, turning and twisting until the colours aligned seamlessly on at least one side of the Rubik's cube – red or yellow - for the YTPS Cubing Challenge. Through persistent practice, our staff and students showed their mettle and desire to master the cube.
Our efforts as one YTPS community came together on 18 April 2024. Staff, students and our ever-supportive parents showed our collective strength in numbers when we broke the previous record of 1400 cubes. YTPS formed the largest word formation with 1512 cubes! This earned us a spot in the Singapore Book of Records! This achievement serves not only as a testament to our school mission but also our commitment to forge ahead as trailblazers, changemakers and problem solvers.
