The team did well to identify multiple causes of procrastination through brainstorming and ideation.
The app was well designed to tackle the root of problems by incentivising students to study.
If the app was designed to be used on the phone, it seems counter-intuitive to have reasons for students to use the app itself. (i.e. pet function)
The team could have designed a function where picking up the phone during a pomodoro session removes points from their account.
This could have sidestepped the lengthy process of creating the prototype box to lock phones and also discouraging students from reaching for their phone.
It could have been interesting to see how the children from disadvantaged families procrastinate.
Children from those communities likely procrastinate with different activities and the project's approach could have been very different.
The team could explore with planning interactions within the app in a way to discourage students from using their phone.
