We live in an increasingly demanding society. Everyone seems busier. Everything needs to be done faster - and more efficiently. At the same time, human activity is stretching the world's resources to the limit. How can we do things better with less time, less fuss, or less resources?
Housekeeping can be a complex matter. There are dishes in the sink, the trash is overflowing, and there is a smell in the toilet that needs to be exterminated. We want a clean house, but it is hard to keep up with the chores on a regular basis. How can we create solutions that will keep our homes neater, cleaner or greener?
As we envision Singapore to be a society that brings out the best in every Singaporean, how do we regard persons with disabilities as equals and empower them to lead independent lives? How do we make Singapore a place where seniors age with energy and dignity?
Your solution should demonstrate a strong understanding of the physical, organisational or attitudinal barriers that the elderly and/or persons with disabilities face, and enable them to live their lives fully and/or contribute to society.
As stewards for future generations, we must do what we can to ensure enough for all forever… by improving: Awareness, conservation, efficiency and most of all, BEHAVIOUR CHANGE! Areas of possible focus for behaviour change towards sustainability and liveability include: energy use, water use, food waste, transportation and consumer choice.
Your solution should demonstrate a strong understanding of issues around sustainability and liveability, and seek to develop good habits that will promote happiness, health, well-being, and, more importantly, a better future for other generations to come.
Children from low income households are often disadvantaged as they lack the resources and assistance at home to help them with learning. How can we help these children to get a better headstart in life and equip them with skills to contribute as useful members of society?
