Strengths of the proposed solution are:
It addresses issues of noise disruption/disturbance experienced by students during HBL
Solution is based on concepts of sound absorbance by material that are readily available
Initial design is well thought out and practical with secondary usage for storage purpose as well as allowing ergonomic placement of laptops during zoom sessions
Areas for Improvement are:
To improve on ventilation of design, e.g., better air flow or installing mini portable fan
To explore foldable design of the “portable study cubicle” for easy storage when not needed
Current Solutions to learn from:
Use of technologies, such as AI and robotics, for healthcare purpose. Incorporate IT in daily life, such as communication, treatment, diagnosis, preventive medicine.
Solutions based on biomimicry and inspiration from nature to solve design issues.
Recycling of used water at home. For instance, to develop a method to reuse water used in washing machine for use to flush toilet. Water used for washing hands in basins could be reused/recycled for other purpose. Recycling of natural resources at home could reduce utility cost. Another area is to design a filtration system to collect rainwater at home for consumption and other usage.
