The inside of the bowl could have a ‘pimpled’ surface to reduce rice sticking like existing rice scoopers to reduce surface contact.
The prototype did well to address the hygiene problem but may not be quick enough for hawkers.
Thinking of ways to store the tool when not in use. i.e. After hawkers scoop a portion, it could be attached to the side of the rice container.
Improve the design to work with one handed use. It will help simplify and speed up the action, saving a lot of time if you have to do this hundreds of times a day.
The team could look into how the scoop is used by hawkers during busy hours to see how they would suggest improving the design.
Include a spring mechanism into the scoop like those found in ice cream scoops for one handed operation.
