The team has successfully demonstrated their prototype, which shows that their original idea is workable. In particular, the team used 3D printing technique to fabricate the coolant holder and used a piece of magnet to stick the coolant holder to the fan. These are quite good ideas.
Other problems that the team may need further to improve are how to design the coolant holder so the wind will not be blocked by parts of the holder and to find a coolant that could hold longer time.
A good problem that affects a large population, even more so for those with financial difficulties.
The team could have considered low cost more in their ideation.
It would have been better to see the team compare a lower cost solution (hanging wet towels) to their current solution with coolants.
Another possible solution would be to hang wet cloth in front of a wind source to accelerate the process of evaporation and circulate cool air.
While this method works better in arid climates, it could be interesting to see how it works in Singapore.
