Part 1: Drawing key lessons

• The students demonstrated their ideas and concepts through several ingenious prototype making. They understood very well the principle of lever mechanism used in both stapler and hole puncher that can be combined to create a 2-in-1 design. It has met all the intended needs to be lightweight, portable and easy to operate.

• The final prototype model could have included a guide to accurately punching the second hole from the first.

• The team may also need to include a compartment to retain those punched paper discs otherwise these would become litters everywhere.

Part 2: Exploring Possibilities

• Current solution to learn from is a Swiss Army knife multi tools that combines several of the mechanical tools into one unit.
