For bedridden patients, there are definitely problems that can be solved in them being bedridden. Problems like blood clout, bed sores, and weak muscles developing are some areas that can be focused on solving first. These are the ‘small wins’ that can be easily achieved first.
For caregivers, how to make their job less straining.
While the problem may not be applicable to many, to the few it could change their lives
The team has came up with a design that is practical and could significantly help caregivers moving a person on/off the bed. The crank system will allow for a smaller caregiver to move someone large without too much physical strain.
It could be interesting to see how a lifesize prototype performs and what it would take to get it properly working.
