Here is the list of Secondary 1 Form Teachers whom you will be meeting on 17 January 2025 during the Parent Teacher Meeting.
Yio Chu Kang Secondary School has been implementing Full Subject Based Banding since 2023. All Sec 1 to 3 students will be in mixed form classes.
The school randomly distributes Sec 1 students across the classes and not by PSLE results

1. School Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:55 am to 2:35 pm and Friday: 7:55 am to 12:30 pm
Students are strongly encouraged to report to school before 7:55 am
Each lesson period is 35 minutes (except for periods 10 & 11 which are 30 minutes each)
A 10-minute Snack break within class is scheduled during periods 4 or 5
A 35-minute Lunch break is scheduled on one of the periods between period 5 and 8
Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are conducted after curriculum hours from 3:00pm to 5:30pm

Nearest MRT Station: Yio Chu Kang (NS 15)
Bus services: 13, 45, 70, 71, 72, 76, 86, 138, 162, 269, 825, 851, 852, 853, 860
Students can gain access to the school via:
Car/Taxi: Vehicles may enter the school to drop off students at the car porch. Main gate gantry will close from 8.00am. Alernatively, students can be dropped off at Rear Gate C which will close from 7:55am.

By 7:55am, report to the school hall for attendance taking.
Be seated in the row where your class is allocated.

Stationery and a storybook to read in the morning
Cash for lunch
Water bottle for the YCKSS Amazing Quest.
Be attired in YCKSS PE T-shirt and shorts. If the YCKSS PE attire is not available, you can wear your Primary school PE T-shirt and shorts.

Stationery and a storybook to read in the morning
Cash for movie snack & drinks (Optional). Students are to take their breakfast at home in the morning.
Jacket (Optional) for movie outing
Be attired in YCKSS Sec 1 Level Discovery (red) T-shirt and school pants / skirt. If the YCKSS School pants / skirt is not available, you can pair the Level Tee with your Primary School Uniform school shorts / skirt / pinafore.

Students will follow the class timetable on 7 January 2025 (Odd Tuesday). Attire on every Tuesday will be the full formal school uniform.

Secondary 1 students will explore the CCA booths on the same day as Sec 1 Parents Teacher Meeting on 17 January 2025, Term 1 Week 2 Friday, from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. Your child/ward will receive more information regarding this event in the first week of school.

Secondary 1 students will attend the MOE Outdoor Adventure Camp at MOE Dairy Farm Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre from 10 to 13 February 2025. We will be seeking your consent via Parents Gateway. You and your child/ward will receive more information regarding this event in the first week of school.
The programme will be fully subsidised and complimentary camp items (1 Camp T-Shirt, 1 pair of long track pants, 1 Bandana, 1 pair of arm sleeves) will be provided for our child. We will be getting the sizing from your child in the January. A packing list will be issued to students in January.
