"I was inspired to write this essay when I realised just how much COVID-19 had changed our lives. Even now, there continues to be daily news on COVID-19 - be it information on new variants or the impact of COVID-19 on our mental well-being. These are just some examples of social issues that had caught my attention.
Having experienced COVID-19 for the third year, I thought that writing the essay came quite easily for me as it was something that we could all relate to. Writing what I truly felt made me feel like I was not writing just for the sake of writing. In fact, I felt that I was also able to gain deeper insights about COVID-19, especially after conducting my own research for the essay."

"I was inspired to write this essay after observing how much the COVID-19 circuit breaker had changed our lives and how all of us had to adapt to the 'new normal'. Every single day, there would be daily reported cases of COVID-19. Honestly, I was terrified that the situation would get worse and I would not be able to leave my home for months.
Everything was done on the Internet then, which was challenging for most of us who had to continue with school or work.
In many ways, writing this essay allowed me to express the memorable and unforgettable experience that I had during the circuit breaker. Not only did I learn how to appreciate the people around me, but I also found ways to spend valuable time with my family and friends - both offline and online."
