YI Challenge
Welcome to the W1 Cluster YI Challenge page!
We strive to build a community of learners that benefit from sharing of ideas, as we embark on a journey of scientific discoveries.
W1 Cluster YI Award Presentation 2023 - A time of rich sharing and learning
Each year, teams of Primary 5 students with a keen interest in scientific investigations, come together to share their learning.
The YI Challenge provides an avenue for students to collaborate and learn together, as well as showcase their projects. The students have a chance to interact with fellow scientists as they expand their scientific knowledge.
The objectives of the YI Science Challenge are as follows:
1. Inspire interest in scientific research
2. Promote scientific inquiry in an authentic context
3. Encourage the use of innovative methods to solve real-world problems
The theme for this year's annual event is Live Green, Love Green, Think Green!
The West 1 YI Science Challenge is an exciting learning experience for students.
It also provides an opportunity for them to learn from peers in other schools and bring home some ideas they see and hear about, back to their schools to work on in the future.
There are 3 categories for the YI Challenge 2024. More details will be shared with the teachers-in-charge during the briefing for teachers.
The students will attend a workshop in July 2024.
