To help students develop a sense of purpose in life by nurturing self-awareness and self-directedness for lifelong learning, Outram Secondary School has partnered with Access Singapore to provide 2 programmes for selected Sec 3 and Sec 4 students. They are the Ace Programme (a partnership between Access Singapore and Public Service Division) and the Oliver Wyman Programme (a partnership between Access Singapore and Oliver Wyman).
The Ace Programme is a 5-week programme where a selected group of Secondary 3 students underwent a project-based experiential learning programme. In this programme, students were grouped into teams and guided by an industry mentor and an Access facilitator.
Over the course of the programme, students solved real-world problems faced by public service sector. They have acquired and strengthened their research and presentation skills, as well as their ability to apply critical thinking skills, stay diligent, on-task and work collaboratively with their team members.
The Oliver Wyman (OW) Programme is a 4-week programme. The key objective of this Mentorship programme is to prepare mentees to land their first internship. This is done by providing a platform for students to explore potential career pathways, gain some career-related skills, prepare their resume, and develop a long-lasting relationship with an Oliver Wyman mentor.
