· National Financial Literacy Competition organized by OSS
The annual Business Studies Bazaar has been a highly anticipated, enriching and exciting journey for the Secondary Four students. They applied their business and marketing knowledge learnt in class to real-world context. They have to budget for the various expenses, identify suitable goods to sell, work out a timeline to prepare for the event, plan marketing strategies and ensure there is a profitable margin earned at the end of the bazaar.
What a great way to spark off the entrepreneurial spirit in them!
On 2 March 2023, Outram Secondary School played host to the Regional Cashflow Challenge (RCF) for the South Zone. About 70 participants from secondary schools, polytechnics and institutions of higher learning pitted their financial knowledge and skills against each other to win attractive prizes.
It was a fruitful and fun afternoon learning about financial planning through the Lcube board game.
Outram students had a whale of a time building up their financial literacy as they made informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources and knowledge during the competition.
National Cashflow Competition 2023
On 11 March 2023, 10 of our Entrepreneur Club members and 2 Finance Leaders participated in the annual National Cashflow Competition. The competition was intense with nearly 300 students from 27 secondary schools.
Our team performed extremely well and did the school proud by emerging as the 1st Runner-up in the Top Performing Secondary School category. Our heartiest congratulations to the team!

The students participated in the Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs) offered by the Institute of Technical Education and the Polytechnics. They are a taster of possible educational progression and career pathways, which enable students to make more informed choices upon graduation from secondary schools.
The ApLMs help students discover their interests and provide them with applied learning opportunities – learning that involves doing and applying, learning about the real world, and learning for life. Going through the modules also enable students to make informed decisions in the next step of their academic pursuit or their career path.
OSS students from the Sec 2 to 4 classes had the opportunities to take part in different fun and hands-on modules such as Fun with Home Networking, Beauty Services, A Taste of Art & Service of Cooking, Creating a 2D computer game, Cruising Into Maritime Industry, Design And Build Your Own Glider, Fitness For Life, Digital Fabrication & Prototyping for Product Design and Future Trends in Business Operations and Supply Chain Management.
