Early Admission Exercises (EAE)
An aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows students to apply and receive conditional offers for admission to the
polytechnic/ITE based on their course-specific aptitudes and interests, prior to receiving their final results.
Direct School Admissions Exercise (DSA-JC)
Aptitude-based admission allows students to apply to a DSA school based on their talent in sports, CCAs and specific
academic areas. Students will need to be committed to their DSA category and chosen school for the duration of the
programme. This admission will be done prior to receiving their final results.
As part of the selection process for both EAE and DSA-JC, you may need to submit portfolios, and undergo interviews, trials or aptitude tests.
Who should Apply?
You have a clear interest in the related course/area
You are able to demonstrate aptitudes/interests related to the course
Objective:
The purpose of a portfolio is to consolidate and showcase your achievements, interests, and goals in preparation for your ITE/Poly EAE or DSA-JC admission interview.
Creating a portfolio puts you at a distinct advantage, as it demonstrates your willingness and interest in the course, significantly increasing your chances of being called for an interview. A well-crafted portfolio not only showcases your achievements and experiences but also reflects your commitment and passion, making you stand out as strong candidates.
Portfolio Format:
You can choose to create your portfolio in a format that best suits your style, such as a website, PowerPoint slide deck, Word document, or other platforms. Canva is highly recommended for its ease of use and creative design options. For EAE portfolio, you may need to convert it into a PDF format or provide a link for interviewer to access.
The list is non-exhaustive.
Tips:
Keep your portfolio well-organized and visually appealing.
Be honest and authentic in sharing your experiences and goals.
Focus on quality over quantity—highlight the most meaningful and relevant achievements.
Portfolio Structure:
Here’s a suggested structure to help you organize your portfolio effectively:
About Me
Start with a brief introduction about yourself.
Share your interests, hobbies, and what drives you.
Highlight any personal achievements that you are proud of.
Why did I choose the course?
Explain why you are passionate about the course you are applying for.
Discuss what sparked your interest in this field and how it aligns with your career aspirations.
My school engagements and activities or outside school activities
Include details about school projects, assignments, or activities you have participated in. (choose 2-3 to highlight)
Highlight any roles or responsibilities you have taken on during these activities.
My CCA participation and competitions
Document your involvement in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs).
Mention any key competitions or events you have participated in and any awards or recognition you have received and how you learn and grow from it.
My aspirations and goals
Conclude with your future aspirations.
Describe how the course you are applying for will help you achieve your long-term goals.
Note: For students who may not have enough CCA involvement to share, you may include ad-hoc projects or courses you took related to the course.
