Preparing for Your Interview
GENERAL TIPS FOR INTERVIEW
• Punctuality – Be prepared to join the video conference at least 15 minutes before the time of interview
If your interview is during school hours, you will receive an Early Release Form from your FTs on the day of the interview. You are to report to the designated venue for your interview immediately after you leave class.

Uniform presentable
• Communication skills:
Honesty and sincerity
Speak clearly and maintain eye contact by looking directly into the camera
Use good and specific examples to illustrate your point where required
Be confident
POSSIBLE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Try answering the following questions and practice with a friend/trusted adult
(A) Motivation
1. Why did you choose this course/ school?
2. Which part of the course impresses you?
3. Tell us your expectations of the course/school.
4. What do you think you will learn from this course/school
5. What are your aspirations? Where will this course lead you?
6. What are the subjects you enjoy currently and are good at?
(B) Personality / Behaviour (social-emotional self)
1.Share with us how you cope with disappointments or failures with an example
2. How do you cope with stress with an example
3. How is this course/school suited for you?
(C) Strengths / Aptitude / Capability
1. What is so special/unique about yourself?
2. Why do you think you are suitable for this course?
(D) Questions you could ask the interviewers at the end of the interview
What are the aptitudes you are looking for in a student in your school / course?

When can I expect to hear from you regarding my application?
PREPARING FOR INTERVIEWS
It is important to learn everything you can about the school/course you would like to apply for. You can do so by:
Learning more about the course and possible careers related to the course in Myskillsfuture portal.
Going to the website of the institution of choice. Research about the institution and the course specifics.
Talking to people who are in / have been in the course / institution / school.
(For EAE) Researching online about the industry that your course is linked to.
If you need to prepare a portfolio, save your work in softcopy and arrange your files in Google Drive. You may also create a Google Website to showcase your projects.
Remember that interview questions differ from industry to industry. These questions we have prepared you for are GENERIC questions and are non-exhaustive.
