Back up all your data from Student iCON before 31st December 2025

The uninstallation of DMA for your PLD is scheduled to be on 12th November 2025
You're not required to bring your PLD to the school
Ensure that your device is switched on & connected to the internet on 12th Nov'25 from 6A.M. to 11P.M
Switch on your PLD the next day after 12/11/2025 to verify that your PLD has been successfully de-enrolled

My Chromebook is not charging
Ensure that there are no loose connections between the plug, power adapter and Chromebook
Ensure that the power outlet you are using is working
To verify if the power adapter is working, try charging your Chromebook with a different power adapter
Restart your Chromebook
Update Chromebook firmware. Click here for the steps.
Bring your Chromebook & power adapter to school ICT Helpdesk if the above steps did not resolve the issue
My Chromebook cannot be switched ON
Plug in the power adapter to ensure that the Chromebook has sufficient power to boot up
Press & hold down the 'Refresh' key together with the 'ON' button for 10 seconds. Try switching on the Chromebook again
Bring your Chromebook & power adapter to ICT Helpdesk if the above steps does not work.
The characters I typed doesn't match with the one shown on the screen
Change your keyboard input/language, follow the steps here. Issue typically gets resolved after changing keyboard input from 'UK' to 'US'

My Chromebook freezes/hangs mid-way while I'm using it
Press and hold down the ON/OFF button for (< 10 secs) to force shutdown the device & restart it
Proceed to update your Chrome OS to the latest version, click here for the steps
If the above steps does not help, backup all your important data/files to another secure media or Student iCON Drive and bring your Chromebook & power adapter to ICT Helpdesk.
Why is my Chromebook screen displaying sideways or How do I rotate my display?
Press and hold down 'Crtl' + 'Shift' + Refresh key to rotate the screen
Alternatively, go to 'Settings' > 'Device' > 'Display' and select the 'Orientation'
What to do when my Chromebook is not connecting to the Wi-Fi while I'm in school?
Ensure that you are signed in with your MIMS account (@students.edu.sg) instead of your personal Google account
Alternatively, try connecting to your personal mobile hotspot or the school SWN@SSOE Wi-Fi network. To sign into SWN@SSOE, enter your birth cert no. and MIMS account password on the web browser when promoted.
The default Wi-Fi connection in school will automatically be switched over to pld@SSOE2024 once the steps above are performed
My Chromebook power adapter is damaged/lost, what should I do?
Purchase a new set from Lenovo (Lenovo contacts below) or any other electronics retail store that sells it. Provide your Chromebook model/specifications to retailer to make sure that you are getting a compatible one

Full screenshot: Press 'Ctrl' + 'Show Windows' key (rectangular with 2 lines on the right)

I've forgotten my Student MIMS password, what should I do?
Visit the MIMS portal & click on 'Forgot Password'
Answer the security questions you have setup previously. Approach the school ICT Team for resetting of password if you have forgotten the answers.
Remember to set up & note down your new password/security question answers in a secure media
What are the minimum-security requirements for setting my MIMS account password?
Your MIMS password should consist at least 12 alphanumeric characters with a combination of numbers, symbols, caps & small letters.
Suggestion: Associate your password with your favourite movie, food or pet's name and any number combinations. Example: Chickenrice1234
Your new password should not contain any information such as your full name, birth day/certificate number etc.
Passwords cannot be recycled.
