Frequently Asked Questions
For Challenge 2, are there any compulsory design considerations for the Cardboard Chair?
Yes, based on the objective, the chair should be made of cardboard, have leg(s) of at least 15cm. It should also have a backrest for the chair.
We encourage students to explore and create the prototype which will best meet the objective (take note that 3kg is about 2 full 1.5L of bottled water)
Will the school provide students with the material?
No. Similar to other SIL activities, you will have to source for your own materials to conduct the challenge.
Does the submitted video need to include the making process?
Students can show the process of designing or making in the video submission. The requirement for the submitted video is that students need to show that they are able to successfully achieve the challenge objective.
What format should the video be in and what should be included in the video?
Your video should be in an mp4 format and in portrait mode. It should be about 1-min long and should show you and/or group members completing the challenge. If chosen, your video will be uploaded in our school's Instagram account.
