1. It is stated that a Medical Certificate (MC) is requested if the child is absent. However, there are times where the child just wants to rest at home instead of waiting to see the doctor which takes a while or going to a private clinic will be a financial burden. But without an MC, the cost of the meal will be forfeited, can the school reconsider this?

As the operator is an independent body that is separate from the school/MOE, a certified MC to support parents’ application for refund is most objective and non-contentious.

1. What will happen if my child doesn't pick up the food at the locker?

All uncollected bentos (at the end of the last recess, 11.00am and lunch, 3.30pm) will be removed from the Food Locker Terminals and food will be disposed accordingly.

2. If my child eats more than one meal a day (recess and lunch), how do I purchase two meals per day on the system and how does the child redeem the recess meal and the lunch meal?

There are options provided in the AMI App for RECESS order and LUNCH order, therefore, students will collect the food at recess and lunch time respectively.To comply to food safety and hygiene, lunch order will not be delivered together with the recess order.

3. What happens if the machine is down?

The Operator has put in place Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure the provision of food is not affected.

4. How fast is each collection from the food locker?

Each collection only takes less than 5 seconds – SCAN and COLLECT.

1. Are the food affordable?

The prices for a meal (small/standard portion with uncut fruits) range from $1.80 to $2.60, complying with the guidelines set by MOE.  

2. I understand that we have to buy credits for a child. Are we able to buy credits and use them for 2 children?

Yes you can.  Parents can add all their children who are studying in Qifa as they set up their AMI App Account.

3. Are unused credits refundable at the end of the school year?

Unused credits will not be refundable. Hence, it is important for parents to manage the utilisation and top up accordingly.

1. My child eats just a little of what he/she should be eating. Can I have a smaller portion so that food isn't wasted?

There are options available – Standard Meal and Small Portion Meal.

2. Will the portion and price be different for upper and lower primary students?

There is no differentiation in terms of portion and price for the different levels.

3. Will utensils be provided and is the bento made of one-time use material or washable material?

To promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact, all food will be served in bento boxes which are reusable and BPA-free.

4. Will students be required to wash and return after use?

Students will not be required to wash the bento box and cutleries which are also reusable.  However, they are expected to return their bento boxes and cutleries to the Bento Return Point that is located in the canteen.  As part of school’s efforts in inculcating everyday responsibilities in students, they will also be guided to dispose unconsumed food into a food waste collection bin before returning the bento boxes.
