The Applied Learning Programme (ALP), helmed primarily by the English Language Department, envisions our students to be ‘Effective communicators who impact with the heart and mind.’ That is, the department is committed to honing the communication skills of the Crestian student, as well as providing them with opportunities put their language competencies to good use for impact, effect and affect.
To achieve our vision, the department has designed and implemented performance tasks at all levels to hone students’ communicative ability. Our school has a two-tiered approach in delivering the programme:
Woven into the English Language curriculum, with programmes targeted at the whole student population.
A Special Interest Group for a selected group of Lower Secondary students who show a keen interest in developing their communication skills.
A Co-Curricular Activity that will further develop students’ skills in content creation and public speaking.
This 25th Anniversary Digital Anthology not only brings together the voices of our staff and alumni, but also showcases the work of students from the Tier 2 Applied Learning Programme and Enhanced Learning Programme, helmed by the EL and MTL Units. To celebrate our school's 25th Anniversary this year, students explored the theme of 'Home,' reflecting on its many meanings and memories. This digital edition further features selected pieces from students who participated in both external and internal writing competitions, highlighting the richness of their creativity and talent.
