Through this overseas immersion trip to Ho Chi Minh City and its neighbouring provinces, students will develop 21st Century Competencies encompassing civic, global and cross-cultural literacy, alongside social-emotional competencies and leadership skills. Students will engage in meaningful service-learning projects and cultural immersion activities that broaden their perspectives of the wider Southeast Asian region and the world.
We hope our students can develop an awareness and appreciation of the socio-cultural landscape of Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region, recognising both its similarities and differences with Singapore. Reflecting on their roles and responsibilities as informed and engaged global citizens who can contribute positively beyond their own communities.
We hope by the end of the OVIA, students have
A deepened understanding of Vietnam's history, culture, and community needs, gained through first-hand cultural immersion experiences.
A strengthened sense of empathy and social responsibility, having contributed meaningfully to the local community through service-learning projects.
Greater self-confidence and leadership capability, having planned and led activities and lessons for younger learners — an experience that challenges them to think beyond themselves and step into a role of positive influence.
Lasting personal growth through exposure to diverse perspectives, helping them become more adaptable, resilient, and compassionate individuals.
