1. What is the PLMGS’s Cut-Off AL Scores for Sec 1 in 2025?
The PSLE scoring system has been changed from the T-Score to Achievement Levels (ALs) since 2021.

2. How many classes of students in Posting Group 1, 2 and 3 will there be in Sec 1 2025?
For Sec 1 2025, there will be 8 classes of students, with a mix of students from different posting groups in the same form class.
3. What is the process for appealing to be admitted to PLMGSS when the student was not posted to PLMGSS?
Applicants who are considering appeals into PLMGS(Sec) - the school can only consider appeal applications if there are vacancies in the school and if the applicants meet the school’s cut-off-point. Please click on the following link for more information:

Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The application for appeal is deemed to be unsuccessful if you do not hear from the school by 10 January 2025.
4. Does the school offer Higher Mother Tongue?
Yes, we offer Higher Mother Tongue (Higher Chinese, Higher Tamil and Higher Malay) in PL.
For other languages, students will have to take the lessons at either a school centre or the language centre (at Newton and Bishan):
Malay Special Programme (MSP) as 3rd language - Zhonghua Sec
Chinese Special Programme (CSP) as 3rd language - Changkat Changi Sec
Students taking NTIL (non-Tamil Indian languages) will attend lessons at their respective centres.
5. Can my child opt to take Higher Mother Tongue in your school?
Eligible students may offer HMTL instead of MTL should they meet the following criteria.
(i) An overall PSLE Score of 8 or better
OR
(ii) An overall PSLE score of 9 to 14 (inclusive); and attain
● AL1/AL2 in MTL or
● Distinction/Merit in HMTL
6. If my child is not offered HMTL by MOE , can I submit an appeal for him or her to offer HMTL in secondary school?
If your child is NOT offered HMTL by MOE, but is keen to offer HMTL in secondary school, please indicate your interest by emailing to HOD MTL, Ms Lim Lin Lin at lim_lin_lin@moe.edu.sg by 23 Dec 2024 (Tuesday).
Your child must have an overall PSLE score of 14 or better and passed HMTL at PSLE or obtained AL3 for MTL.

Kindly note that it is open to students who are in Posting Group 3 in 2025.
The school will select suitable candidates based on their PSLE results. You will be notified of the outcome latest by 3 Jan 2025 (Friday). Please note that the decision is final and there will be no appeals.

Successful DSA students are not allowed to participate in the S1 Posting Exercise to opt for secondary schools.
