The annual Primary 5 Camp Experience offers students meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through Outdoor Education (OE). The camp encourages pupils to discover more about themselves in challenging situations, build friendships and teamwork in an inclusive environment, and understand the importance of caring for nature.
Through these authentic learning experiences, students develop resilience, adaptability, and 21st Century Competencies, nurturing them into confident and compassionate innovians who lead active and healthy lives.
Through the camp, we want the students to be able to:
1) Develop a curiosity about the outdoors
2) Interact and work with others confidently to solve problems in a critical and analytical way.
3) Develop self-reliance and explore ways to respond to challenges
4) Apply the outdoor skills of simple navigation and packing for a day camp
Pupils participates in bonding games through the terms. It allows them to put what they have learnt into gameplay and creates bonding across the level in an authentic setting.

At Innova Primary School, the National Physical Fitness Award (NAPFA) serves as an important platform for our Primary 4 and Primary 6 students to develop awareness of their physical health, stamina, and overall well-being. For our Primary 4 students, NAPFA provides an early benchmark of their fitness levels, helping them cultivate an understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement. For our Primary 6 students, it acts as both a culmination of their primary school physical education journey and an opportunity to demonstrate perseverance, resilience, and responsibility for personal fitness as they prepare for secondary school.
Beyond assessing fitness, NAPFA is closely aligned with the school’s vision of nurturing future-ready individuals. The process encourages students to embrace the 21st Century Competencies (21CC) of self-management, resilience, and collaboration. Students learn to set goals, overcome challenges, and encourage one another during the various test stations. These experiences nurture not just physical endurance but also a growth mindset that will benefit them in both academic and personal pursuits.
In line with our school’s ISTAR values, NAPFA is a meaningful platform for students to demonstrate Integrity by giving their best effort honestly, Self-discipline in preparing and pacing themselves, Teamwork in supporting peers, Adaptability in facing challenges, and Resilience in striving despite fatigue. These qualities equip our students with essential life skills that extend beyond the sports field, shaping them into confident individuals who can take on future challenges with determination.
At Innova Primary, we believe that NAPFA is more than a fitness test—it is a journey of character development, personal growth, and lifelong learning. Through it, our students gain not only a measure of their physical abilities but also the values and mindsets needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
