Meeting the school’s score range does not guarantee a child’s admission into the secondary school. Likewise, not meeting the school’s score range does not necessarily mean that your child would not be admitted into the secondary school. The actual score range is not pre-determined before the posting and may vary from year to year depending on students’ PSLE results and their school choices for that particular year’s Sec 1 Posting Exercise.

One signature programme is the school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP), which aims to ignite students’ interest in the field of “Health Science and Technology” by creating opportunities to allow them to explore technology to develop solutions towards better living.
Another signature programme is the school’s Learning for Life Programme (LLP), which aims to build character through sports and outdoor adventure. It seeks to equip students with the knowledge to be a critical and inventive thinker, the skills to be a competent and confident leader, the attitude to be gracious and cultured citizens, and to be a healthy and active youth. Students will be nurtured to be learners for life by enabling them to be stronger athletes, tougher individuals and better learners.

Full Subject-Based Banding (FSBB) is part of MOE's ongoing efforts to nurture the joy of learning and develop multiple pathways to cater to the different strengths and interests of our students.
With FSBB, students will learn each subject at the level that best caters to their overall strengths, interests and learning needs. There will no longer be separate Express, N(A), and N(T) courses, and students will be in mixed form classes where they can interact with peers of different strengths and interests. Subject-Based Banding (SBB) will also be offered beyond the four PSLE subjects, to allow eligible students to offer Humanities subjects at a more demanding level from Secondary 2. Other subjects such as Art, Design and Technology, Food and Consumer Education, and Music will be offered as accompanying set of Common Curriculum subjects at lower secondary.

SKSS will embark on FSBB in 2023.
Under Full SBB, there will no longer be separate Express, N(A), and N(T) courses, and students will be in mixed form classes where they can interact with peers of different strengths and interests.
Under FSBB, eligible students will also be allowed to offer Humanities subjects at a more demanding level from Secondary 2.
From the start of Secondary One, students will generally start with subjects at a subject level based on their PSLE Score, or at a more demanding level based on their PSLE performance in English Language, Mother Tongue Languages, Mathematics and Science.
