Maker Leaders in action
Recess activities
The Maker Club is a new CCA aligned to our school Maker Curriculum and direction. It is envisioned as a talent development programme to nurture passionate Makers and to develop leadership skills and dispositions in students.
What we do...
Outline of CCA Activity
1) Maker Knowledge and Skills Development
To build the capacity of the members, there will be modular training based on Craft, Technology and Problem-solving. Craft includes low-tech art and craft work. Technology includes coding and robotics platforms. We will also develop problem-solving skills that requires members to apply their knowledge of Craft and Technology.
2) Outreach
Members will plan and conduct Maker activities during recess for their peers. They will also conduct Maker activities for ad-hoc events. Over time, we hope to extend the outreach programme to beneficiaries beyond the school.
3) Leadership Development
All Maker Club members will be recognised as Maker Leaders by the school and will lead the conduct of Maker related activities in school. A long-term goal would be to explore entering the Maker Leaders in Maker-related competitions as part of their development.
