A: Monday to Thursday: 7.30 am – 1.30 pm, Friday: 7.30 am – 1.00 pm
Q: Does the school offer Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL)?
A: Offers HMTL for recommended students from Primary 3 onwards.
Q: Is it possible that my child may not get a place at the Student Care @ North View?
Yes. Priority is given to SC/PR, disadvantaged students, working parents, single working parent etc.
Q: Is there CCA for lower primary students?
A: No. Lower primary students go through Programme for Active Learning (PAL). CCA formally starts at Primary 3 (But there are exceptions, on a case to case basis).
Q: How is CCA selection carry out?
A: At P2, there will be a P2 CCA Experience. Students will indicate their choices and School decides based on students’ choices and availability of vacancy and resources, e.g. school facilities.
Q: Are there remedial lessons for lower primary students?
A: Learning Support Programme (LSP: EL) and Learning Support for Math (LSM), Reading Remediation Programme, Buddy reading before school starts.
Q: Are there formal assessment for lower primary students?
A: North View Primary practices Holistic Assessment (HA). HA means that assessment does not need to be traditional pen-paper assessment. It can be in other forms and take place during lessons in class
Assessment in Primary 1: No formal assessment in Term 1, Bite-sized assessments from Term 2 to 4
Assessment in Primary 2: Bite-sized assessments from Term 1 to 3, Year-end assessment: formal pen-paper assessment (summative assessment)

Q: There seems fewer CCA offered compared to other nearby schools, and perceived as a less popular school in this neighborhood.
A: NVPS offers16 different CCAs to Primary 3 to 6.
Sports & Outdoor Education: 4, Performing & Visual Arts: 7, Uniform Groups: 3, Clubs: 2
The range of number of CCA in a few schools in the Yishun community are between 13 to 19.
NVPS’s focus for CCA is to have a healthy number of students enrollment in each CCA to maximize the child’s CCA experiences based on our available Physical environment and facilities
Q: Is NV doing anything about bringing up its popularity or ranking? What and how?
A:There are no more ranking of schools, both in secondary and primary. Primary schools in the heartland are to serve the local community or neighbourhood. Academic results can be benchmarked against comparable schools. It’s difficult to benchmark non-academic areas. Therefore, it is not a ranking or “popularity” contest.
Q: What facilities does the school have? E.g.: school field? Playground? What competition opportunities will the students have? Why should we pick North View as the school for our kids?
A: Currently NVPS is going through PERI upgrading which is targeted to complete by mid 2022. After PERI upgrading we will have an Indoor Sports Hall, A school field with synthetic turf , A fitness playground ,An Outdoor Experiential Learning space, A multi-disciplinary trail with emphasis on Science, Music and sustainability, An upgraded Media Resource Library, An upgraded futuristic Science Lab and many more.
