I am a Year 2 student in NLS. I joined Basketball because I thought my form teacher looks kind and he can be my CCA teacher. I learnt quickly that looks are deceiving. I struggled with negative thoughts, many Sunday evening "injuries"  and struggled to maintain my attendance. My FT was upset and asked me to quit and join Netball. However, my CCA teachers did not give up on me. I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it and make my family and teachers proud. I worked hard during the school holidays to train on my own and improve my skills. One day in Year 2, I was invited to join train with the school team. Under the nurturing guidance of Coach Jason, I trained harder and flourished. I am still a work in progress and I believe anyone can do the same as long as we Never Give Up!
