What can I do to prevent misuse of Apps / iPad features (e.g. Airdrop) in the classroom during lesson?
Teacher can either get the students to switch off or close the app by themselves or could lock the student's iPad using the DMA or Apple classroom. Teacher can also ensure that the iPads are kept in the students bag when not in use.
Mobile Guardian can be used on the teacher's laptop to control the student's iPad.
Teachers may click on the link below to access the website and teacher's guide for mobile guardian. It contains step by step guide on the setup and the different functions of mobile guardian. Apple Classroom is an IOS app that teachers can use on their iPad. It allows teachers to control the students iPad using their personal or school owned iPad. Teacher can click on the link below for the teacher's guide. The main difference between between apple classroom and mobile guardian is that apple classroom allows live view of what the students are looking at on their iPad but it is not able to see the features that the students are using on their iPad (e.g. Airdrop)
Note:
If student's iPad cannot get connected to Apple Classroom,
check that the student's iPad is on the PDLP network (school wifi) and the teacher's iPad is on the SWN network.
switch the bluetooth and/or wifi off and on again. Both bluetooth and wifi must be on for Apple classroom to be connected.
