REMOVAL OF DMA FROM GRADUATING STUDENT IPADS (2023)
Removal of the DMA for Secondary 4NT, 4E and 5NA students iPads has been scheduled on 14th November 2023 (12PM).
Removal of the DMA for Secondary 4NA student iPads has been scheduled on 20th December 2023 (12PM).
On the mentioned date, our DMA vendor will initiate a command to de-enrol your iPad from the DMA system. This means, the moment you turn on your iPad on the stated date and you have connected to the WI-FI (internet), the command will be initiated on your device and this will remove the DMA from your iPad.
Graduating students are required to do the following process:
Turn on the iPads on the stated date and time
Make sure that the iPad is connected to the WIFI
The “wipe” process will begin automatically the moment it is connected to WIFI
The process will take between 10 - 15 minutes
Once it is completed and the mobile guardian app is removed from your home screen, you can proceed to perform the factory reset:
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings
(Please ensure there is at least 50% battery power on your PLD or plug in the power adapter)
Please note that by doing the step above, ALL data including photos, videos and notes will be wiped off from the iPad.
Any data that is saved in the student’s iCloud (Using School Managed Apple ID) will not be wiped.
Alternatively, you can move/transfer your data to other online resources before the date and time stipulated
IMPORTANT: Ensure that you have already backed up your iPad data on any other available online sources BEFORE the 14th November 2023.

You will still be able to access your school issued Apple ID until 31st December 2023. (Extended to 5th January 2024)
To currently see all data in your iCloud, please open any internet browser on a LAPTOP/DESKTOP, and head over to www.icloud.com and sign in with your Student Apple ID and password. You can head over to iCloud.com and sign in to your Apple ID to pull out any data that had been synced with your iPad. (Photos, Files etc.)
For this year's graduating students, when you are accessing your iCloud through your laptop, you are required to input a verification code after logging in. Click here to view your verification code.

Common FAQs for Graduating Students on Removal of DMA
I'm supposed to see the DMA removed from the iPad, however I still see the school's wallpaper. What should I do?
Ans: Not to worry, please make sure that your iPad is connected to WIFI. After that, Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings. This should manually reset your iPad.
I'm a Sec 4NA student and I was informed by my teacher that the DMA was supposed to be removed today however I still see the school's wallpaper. What happened?

I want to access my iCloud files on the laptop however it prompts me for a verification code. Where can I get my verification code?

Can I download my own apps after the DMA has been removed from my iPad?
Ans: Yes you can, make sure that you sign in with your own personal Apple ID to unlock the app store. Follow the instructions here.
I forgot my School Apple ID or Password, are you able to reset it?
Ans: Please click here for such a request. Please note that your Apple ID details and new temporary password will be sent to your Student iCON email address. Both the Student Apple ID and Student iCON email address is usable until 31st December 2023.

As you are coming to the end of your secondary school term, your Student iCON email address and all data that you have saved there will be removed. Data included in the removal are from:
Your Student iCON Gmail Account
Your Student iCON Google Drive Resources
Your Student iCON Google Classroom Data
IMPORTANT: To ensure that you do not lose your data, please complete your Student iCON takeout and move the data to your personal Gmail address before 31st December 2023.
