Mum and I took a bus to my coding class which was at Bukit Timah. When we got on the bus, there were a few passengers. I saw a window seat on the right side, so I took it. Mum sat down next to me. I saw more and more people get on the bus. Soon, an old couple got onboard. The Grandpa was using a crutch. Once we see them, we gave them our seats. They smiled and said, "Thank you.” I was elated to have helped them.

Respect is a value,
Every Rulangnite must reflect.
Respect yourself, by being morally upright.
Respect our friends, by lending a helping hand.
When we respect others, everything will turn out right.
Respect our teachers, by listening attentively with eagerness.
Respect our cleaners, by keeping our school spick and span.
Respect our elders, by giving them honor.
When we do not respect others, we cannot expect others to respect us.
Let’s show respect, to make Rulang more perfect.

The school bell rang for lunch. Brooklyn was on duty to clean up the classroom with Lily. They picked up the brooms and started sweeping. “Argh! I hate sweeping!” Brooklyn lamented. She quietly put the broom back and tip-toed to the back door to leave. But she realised that ditching her friend to clean the classroom all by herself was a wrong thing to do. It would take Lily a long time to sweep the entire classroom herself. Brooklyn resisted the urge to leave and continued to help her friend.

Sally flew paper airplanes as a hobby. She made many attempts but none worked. She decided to fly somewhere that was windy. Unfortunately, the paper plane nosedived and crushed onto the ground. She made another paper airplane but the wind blew it away. She decided to learn about wind resistance. She then knew what went wrong, corrected it and succeeded. She created more paper airplanes and advanced to higher stages. Sally made improvements on a daily basis. Fifteen years later, she finally became what she dreamt to be – a pilot.

I know that you rarely submit your homework on time, so I have drawn a timetable for you. Please fill in the blanks yourself. You must submit your work promptly. It is also unfair that the teachers’ work is always delayed because of your late submissions. I hope you will understand your teachers and help them. Please, understand. Thank you on behalf of all our teachers.

Back in Alaska was where Louise took some of his most iconic photographs. However, they came at a price. He would wait for days just to spot an animal, often neglecting the rumbles in his stomach just so that he would not miss that perfect shot. To him, nothing mattered more than his photographs, which, at the same time taught him the importance of adaptability and self-discipline.

Mythos (Juniors Orators) competition is a story-telling competition organised by ACJC Debate and Oratorical Society annually in Singapore. The competition consists of 2 preliminary rounds, a semi-finals and a grand final. All rounds are based on a story-telling format.
The first round required participants to send in a video of them doing their story-telling. After which, the participants had to go through a learning video including learning points from the submissions in the first round. In the second round, participants used the same story but a new recording was submitted.
However, due to enhanced public safety measures in light of the COVID-19 virus, there was a slight change to the competition format in 2020 where the top 20 winners were selected based on the first 2 preliminaries.
Three pupils from Rulang, Ashton Chia (Primary 5A), Giselle Chong (Primary 5U) and Li Xin Rui (Primary 5U) participated in the competition. We are very proud to announce that Ashton Chia of Primary 5A emerged the Top 20 Winners for the Mythos (Juniors Orators) Competition 2020.
The Singapore Moo-O Awards is a digital storytelling competition which started in 2013 with the support of the Speak Good English Movement and McGraw-Hill. Participants use the Moo-O software to record themselves as story characters reading the stories assigned for the competition.
Unlike past years, the 2020 Singapore Moo-O Awards was conducted online, with schools using the new Moo-O's Distance Collaboration feature, which allowed participants to create their Moo-O video collaboratively with one another without having to be together physically. We are very proud to announce that with efforts from a team of three Primary 3 pupils consisting of Lee Xin Ying (3B), Ambi Jayapathy Keerthi Sree (3B) and Nur Qurratu Binte Ridzuan (3C), Rulang has achieved a Silver Award.
