Values in action (VIA)

For #FreshMonday, the students carried out the iClean activity during homeroom.

The activity aims to promote and instill responsibility and self-management in the students through the emphasis on the importance of managing daily routines such as conducting wipe-down in class and tidying their school bags and pencil cases.

During the session, the students recycled waste papers found in their bags, and arranged their books and files in an orderly manner. Some of them mentioned that their bags now feel much lighter than before. Let’s take a look at our responsible Fuchunians.

This VIA activity also extends out of school, where the students put what they have learnt in school into good use at home.

sTUDENT LEADERS via (2021)

Values in Action (VIA) at Fuchun Primary aims to develop our students into concerned citizens, active contributors who serve with compassion. The Covid-19 pandemic did not stop the students from having the opportunities to participate in VIA activities and reaching out to the community.

In collaboration with Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, our P6 student leaders took part in a VIA activity via Zoom in which they guided the patients through a recreational art activity. The session provided the student leaders with the opportunity to experience what it means by giving back to society and hence, developed the empathy in them.

Floral Art Activity (October 2021)

Following the student leaders meaningful VIA sessions with Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, our Primary 6 students were also given the opportunity to do their part for the community. The P6 students prepared art kits and demonstration videos to guide the patients in their art therapy. The patients truly enjoyed the simple yet creative process of creating their own paper floral bouquets.

Shoe Drive 2021

As part of our school's contribution towards a sustainable Singapore, FCPS has partnered ActiveSG to hold a shoe collection drive in school on 12 Nov 2021 Fri & 15 Nov 2021 Mon. This Values in Action initiative is so that we can build a more sustainable future for ourselves and Singapore! In total, we had collected 216 pairs of shoes. Hooray! Fuchunians, as well as the student leaders involved, have gained a deeper understanding on ways in which they can contribute to the community and environment.
