With the belief that every student has the potential to lead, we offer a range of student leadership platforms to suit the students' interests and readiness. All SJCians undergo training in the Leadership Challenge Model to better themselves and be a positive influence to others. Students with the passion to serve will have many opportunities to develop their potential and grow as leaders.
Class-level: Monitors and Peer Support Leaders
CCA-level: CCA leaders
School-level: Student Council, Sports Leaders
All student leaders go through training and are given opportunities for them to practise and develop their leadership skills.
SJCians are encouraged to give ideas and make the school a better place. Those with a feasible suggestion, and the commitment to see it through will have the support and guidance of the teachers to make their ideas become reality!
Here are two events that were initiated and organised by students to strengthen school spirit and build connections between SJCians:
A group of students wanted to contribute to the school's 85th anniversary celebrations in 2023, and rallied the school to put together the event. Classes volunteered to take charge of game booths and activities like the haunted houses, and many more students stepped up to help with the decorations, publicity and performances. The carnival was a blast! Tap on the image above to find out more.
Hoping to increase school spirit and interactions across different levels in school, a group of students proposed a special day of bonding and fun in the last week of Term 2. On that day, students (and teachers!) came dressed as their favourite characters and took part in inter-cohort games, ending with a mass sing-along session.
