Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP)
The Ministry of Education (MOE) introduced the National Digital Literacy Programme (NDLP) to support students in developing strong digital literacy skills. As part of this initiative, the Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) was launched for all secondary school students. Under the PDLP, each student will receive a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD), with full implementation by the end of 2021.
Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience by allowing teachers and students to effectively harness technology in the classroom. These devices not only promote digital literacy, but also encourage students to become self-directed and collaborative learners.
At CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent, the chosen PLD is the Lenovo Chromebook 500e Gen 4SE, powered by the Intel N200 processor. Designed with students in mind, it features a 12.2" multi-touch screen and a stylus, making it ideal for interactive learning both in class and at home.
Each student will receive a complete bundle, which includes a carrying case, USB wired mouse, Lenovo stylus pen, and power adapter. The device also comes with a 3-year insurance plan and carry-in warranty, providing peace of mind and dependable support throughout the student's secondary school journey.
If the PLD needs repair and it's still within the 3-year warranty (starting from the date your child received the device), you can either bring it straight to the service centre, or have your child drop it off in school at the Tech Hub on Level 2—we’ll help send it in for you.
*Please back up your PLD before sending it for repair, as all data may be lost. Step-by-step guide available here.
**Kindly note that if the school assists in sending the device for repair, the turnaround time may be 2 to 3 weeks longer than if the device is brought directly to the service centre by the parent or student.
MOE Device Management Application (DMA)
As part of the Personal Learning Device (PLD) initiative, all PLDs are required to have the MOE Device Management Application (DMA) installed before they can be used in school. For Chromebook PLDs, the DMA solution will be powered by LightSpeed Systems®.
Parents will continue to have a choice of three After-School DMA options: Default, Option A, and Option B. Please note that the user experience may differ depending on the device’s operating system, as each DMA solution is tailored to its respective OS.
For more information, please click here.
Parents may request to change your selected After-School DMA Option at any time using this link.
*Please note that all change requests will be processed at the end of each month and may take up to 7–10 working days to take effect.
**Parents of 2026 Secondary 1 students, please do not use this link yet. There will be a separate link given to indicate your DMA Option nearing your child/ward PDLP deployment date.
