2. Watch this Introduction to Statistics (1.1) for an overview of the various elements of statistics. Note the terminologies used (eg. Descriptive vs Inferential statistics, variable, discrete vs continuous).
(You may ignore the concepts of categorical data mentioned in 2:35 to 3:20)

3. Watch this and fill in your lecture notes: Ch S3 Section 3.1.

Activity to connect the concepts of mean and standard deviation to the concepts of expectation and variance
(to be introduced formally in Section 3.3 in Blended Learning Session 2)
5. You would need the help of an online simulator (DICE ROLL SIMULATOR) to simulate 60, 000 rolls of a die.
Task: Follow the instructions in the Appendix: Blended Learning Activity on Pg 11 of your notes. Complete sections (A) and (B) of the appendix found at the end of the notes.
You would need to submit a picture of your work [submit in Googleform under Post-Learning section].
Instructions for the use of the DICE ROLL SIMULATOR
See the image below to set the 3 settings:
Set to FREQEUNCY, dice =1, Press 6 times of "10,000" to get 60,000 throws.
Note the frequency count for each of the 6 outcomes of the die.
