Activity 2B: Let's Interview!
Find 3 people and ask them about:
- A fake news about COVID-19 that they used to believe or have heard before.
- Where did they hear that.
- How did they feel when they heard it.
- What is the real news.
- How did they discover the real news.
Then write their responses below. You must include a picture or video of them, or draw a picture of them.
Post your interviews in the Padlet below. An example has been prepared for you.
TIPS!
Write their full name, age, occupation and where they stay.
If you are doing this activity in school, try NOT to interview a person that has already been interviewed twice.
Take a photo of yourself as the journalist!

Activity 2C: Spread the Word!
Now it's your turn to be a young journalist like Juriah!
Your task:
Create an announcement to share with your friends, school and family about "How to Identify Fake News About Covid-19".
Format:
You can make a poster, Facebook or Instagram post with photos, Whatsapp message, story, comic, short video, or any other ways that will get your audience's attention.
Your announcement must have:
a) Real stories from 2 people about how they discovered a 'news' they received is fake (Use the interviews in Activity 2 to help you),
b) 3 tips or advice on how to check if a COVID-19 information they received is true, and
c) Creativity!
PREPARE
Step 1: Choose which method do you want to use to present your announcement.
Step 2: Select 2 stories from Activity 2 to be featured in your announcement. (Choose the most exciting/ shocking/ dramatic/ scariest/ funniest one!)
RESEARCH
Step 3: Write 3 tips on how to check if a piece of COVID-19 news is true or fake. You may discuss with a friend to get more ideas, or refer to Juriah's comic.
CREATE
Step 4: Make your announcement as exciting as possible. You may use English or Bahasa Melayu. If you wish to use your local language such as Mandarin, Bahasa Kadazan, Bahasa Semai and others, please write a translation in English/ BM as well so that more people can understand your important announcement.
ANNOUNCE
Step 5: Send your completed announcement to your teacher. This could be displayed during World Children's Day for everyone to see. Give it your best shot, everyone! :)
