Output Hypothesis

"Output may stimulate learners to move from the semantic, open-ended, nondeterministic, strategic processing prevalent in comprehension to the complete grammatical processing needed for accurate production. Output, thus, would seem to have a potentially significant role in the development of syntax and morphology"
(Swain, 1995, p. 128)
Output production is an important tenet in the process of language learning/acquisition. Only through the output produced by the learners can we truly gauge how much they have learnt. Here's a slideshow to give you a rundown on the principles of the output theory.
Now that we have looked into the fundamentals of the Output Theory, let's put our knowledge to the test. Below are two lesson plans that focus on the production of output by students. Choose and analyze the lesson plan. Your analysis should include :
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the lesson?
Will learners produce meaningful output in this lesson?
How will you improve the lesson plan?
You can submit your analysis here.
Produced by : Azellecrystal Anak Jok, Fiolyn Michell Anak Barin, Melanie Anne Clarence & Tiffany Anak Paul (B.ED TESL, AMBILAN JUN 2019, IPGK BATU LINTANG)

As teachers, we should provide ample opportunities for our learners to produce meaningful output. Choose any topic from any of the CEFR textbooks and create a lesson plan that focuses on the production of output. It need not be a formal lesson plan, even a description of the activity is sufficient.
