Join me on an exciting journey as I explore the intricacies of implementing flipped learning in the classroom. Through multimedia elements like videos, images, and written reflections, you'll gain insights into the challenges and successes I encountered along the way. Witness firsthand the evolution of my pedagogical practice, and learn how I transformed my teaching style to better engage and inspire my students.
I teach english in special education. As someone who has been teaching and learning for the past 17 years, I always incorporate educational technologies into my teaching and learning methods. For special kids, it is important to get the attention and focus of my special pupils in the class. Sometimes, i open a video on Youtube to make them fell calm and ready to follow the lessons that day. Lessons using any technology such as computer and speaker are very interesting and the pupils will have fun on my lesson.
Yes, it is crucial to understand that incorporating technology into education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Its impact on student learning experiences can vary depending on various factors such as instructional goals, student demographics, and available resources. As a teacher who is dedicated to providing my students with the best possible learning experience, I understand the significance of balancing pedagogy and technology integration. It is important to ensure that technology serves to enhance rather than detract from the learning process. Ultimately, the thoughtful integration of technology in alignment with pedagogical goals can maximise student engagement, comprehension, and achievement.
In a flipped classroom, pupils will have learning material before the class starts. This preparation involves watching videos on Youtube or reading books. Traditional class involves teachers with lectures and followed by homework, but a flipped classroom involves discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on projects. Students actively engage with the material, applying concepts and deepening their understanding. The teacher’s role shifts from being the primary source of information to that of a facilitator who guides student-centered learning and encourages collaboration. As a result, the learning experience becomes more dynamic and personalized.
In my opinion, flipped classrooms can be applied to my own classroom. I have to find a video that is suitable for my lesson or reading materials, then post it to a whatsapp group for my pupils to see before the lesson begins. My pupils will have an idea about the lesson and if they have any questions, they can ask me later. Overall, flipping the traditional classroom structure encourages active learning, personalization, and a dynamic environment. Teachers become facilitators, guiding collaborative learning and creating an engaging educational experience
