WHAT IS POETRY POTPOURRI?
The Poetry Potpourri project introduces an innovative approach to poetry education for Year 5 pupils by utilizing a Google Site platform. This digital tool serves as a centralized repository, consolidating a collection of poems, accompanying notes, and diverse interactive activities into a single accessible location. Through this innovative integration of technology and pedagogy, students are provided with comprehensive resources and engaging opportunities to explore, analyze, and create poetry. This initiative aims to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of poetry while promoting active learning and independent exploration.
OBJECTIVE
The objectives of this program are:
To cultivate a love for poetry among Year 5 primary school pupils by exposing them to a diverse range of poetic styles, themes, and authors.
To improve pupils' language arts skills, including reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and literary analysis, through engagement with poetry.
To encourage pupils to think critically about poetic texts, analyze literary devices, and interpret meaning, thereby enhancing their critical thinking skills.
