Join me on an exciting journey as I explore the intricacies of implementing flipped learning in the classroom. Through multimedia elements like videos, images, and written reflections, you'll gain insights into the challenges and successes I encountered along the way. Witness firsthand the evolution of my pedagogical practice, and learn how I transformed my teaching style to better engage and inspire my students.
In my experience as a teacher, I prefer incorporating technology into my lessons. My students are young—currently in Year 2—so gaining and maintaining their attention can be quite challenging. Since they are growing up surrounded by technology, using it in class helps keep them engaged. They usually watch videos to get the idea or explore the surface of the topic.
EdTech isn't one-size-fits-all—its success depends on clear learning goals, student needs, and available resources. As a dedicated educator, I focus on balancing pedagogy with technology so that digital tools enhance learning rather than detract from it. Thoughtfully aligned tech ultimately drives engagement, deepens comprehension, and boosts student achievement.
In my view, a flipped classroom requires students to explore a topic independently before sharing their findings in class. The teacher then guides the discussion, helping to clarify concepts and fill in any missing details.
In my own words, applying a flipped classroom simply means swapping the location of instruction and practice.
Instead of introducing new material at school through a lecture and sending practice work home, you reverse the environment.
