OUR ECO SCHOOL MONITORING AND EVALUATION TECHNIQUES
OUR ECO SCHOOL MONITORING AND EVALUATION TECHNIQUES
Various types of monitoring and evaluating methodologies were used to monitor and evaluate the progress of our projects. We monitored and evaluated each of our projects using these approaches:
1) SITE INSPECTIONS
Inspections are carried out at least three times a week early in the morning or during recess time by the main Green Squad team. Otherwise, the school workers or teachers will do the rounds from time to time
2) DOCUMENTATION AS EVIDENCE:
Consist of minute meetings, progress reports, interview questions, feedback survey questions & lesson plans
Lesson plans for step 5
During minute meetings, we discussed latest updates and what we need to do further
All the progress reports were written as the progress were monitored by the in-charged green squad teams and teachers. All the progress reports were briefly written stages by stages for all to read and understand.
The interview questions were created by students to interview for reflection and feedback.
Feedback survey questions were given again to collect data for environmental review after action 2.
3) BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES AS EVIDENCE
We can't monitor and evaluate learning process purely based on documentation. Thus, we captures pictures of the hands on activities by giving the opportunity for students to learn new knowledge beyond their textbook.
All the pictures were gathered and subheadings and captions explaining the process were added.
All the pictures were organised based on themes:
THEME 1 : BIODIVERSITY AND NATURE
THEME 2: HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
THEME 3 : SCHOOL GROUND
4) INTERVIEW session VIDEO RECORDING
We prepared interview questions to interview our pupils and teachers for their level of satisfaction and for any recommendations.
5) LOG BOOK EVIDENCES
6) MONITORING USING HABITAT MAP
As one project is over or going to be over, pupils will colour the habitat map.
7) ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW AFTER ACTION 2
The results of the monitoring and evaluation were shared with the Eco-school community and our school community as well as to others through approaches like:
uploading all the evidences in our official Eco-School Google site and shared the links within our telegram groups
