"I believe that education can improve the quality of students' life. My role as a teacher is to provide a role model of politeness, diligence and act as a problem solver for my students so they have a positive attitude, never give up, and be competence in completing all assigned tasks."

My teaching statement
Being a teacher will allow me to influence future generations by modelling. I can pave the way for my students to grow into responsible, independent adults with highly developed 21st-century learning skills, including communication, collaboration, problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking. I always believe that teachers are influential role models who may shape their students' attitudes, values, and actions. Teachers who set a good example may profoundly impact their students' development.
For me, a teacher's responsibility is to support learning by providing students with knowledge and creating an environment conducive to effective learning. Therefore, I will keep improving my teaching strategies using technological tools and action research. When there was no visualizer at school, I used an iPad camera to connect to a projector for my demonstration. Based on students' feedback through action research, I can reflect on my pedagogical practices and keep modifying them. The comments of my students are the driving force behind my continued improvement. Whatever strategy I employ must be consistent and align with the method and the approach. There is no single best approach, method or strategy that applies to all because it depends upon the type of students, the nature of the subject, and beliefs on our philosophy as a teacher.
Next, a student shall be personally responsible for the outcomes of their studies. The students must support one another as they collaborate to accomplish the learning objectives. Therefore, the student's role is vital and dynamic in the classroom. I will design the group work activities which require students to be responsive in class and engage in meaningful dialogue among their classmates. Due to shifting technological developments, students' traditional function within the educational system has been inverted from not only being a receiver to task monitors. Students are responsible for self-paced learning, seeking out information, and constructing their understanding in completing the task. Besides, a teacher needs to develop students' strong communication skills, be polite and be problem solvers in real-world applications for what they study.
I am excited to take on the challenges of teaching all the time, and I will be just as enthusiastic and committed as I was when I first entered the profession.
My teaching strategies
For me, it is extremely vital that my lesson be both teacher-centred & student-centred. Teacher plays a crucial role in the classroom in order to maximise student learning. Moreover, teachers should use a wide range of strategies to accommodate students with varying learning styles.
