This course is designed to enable students to learn the basic concepts & principles of chemistry. This course covers matters, mole concept, the periodic table, chemical bonding, electronic configuration, chemical equilibrium & ionic equilibria.
Course learning outcomes (CLO):
At the end of the course, students should be able to :
1. CLO 1 - Explain the fundamental concepts in chemistry.
2. CLO 2 - Solve problems with analytical & critical thinking using chemistry facts & principles.
3. CLO 3 - Apply the appropriate scientific laboratory skills in chemistry experiments.
4. CLO 4 - Analyse numerical problems in chemistry.
The Chemistry subject of the SES Matriculation Program is a core subject covering 4 credit hours and is implemented in the tutorial and practical modes.
