1.2 – Understand meaning in a variety of familiar contexts.

3.2 -Understand a variety of linear and non-linear print and digital texts by using appropriate reading strategies.

1.2.2 Understand with support specific information and details of longer simple texts.

3.2.3 Guess the meaning of unfamiliar words from clues provided by title and topic.

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :

1. sing a song about helping others. 

 2. talk about helping others.

 3. fill in the blanks with at least 4/6 correct answers for the questions.

 4. answer twenty google form quiz questions.

1. Introduce the topic of ‘helping out’ by showing a picture on the slide.

2. Pupils guess what's it about.

1.  Teacher presents the new vocabularies to the pupils. (SB page 71)

2.  Pupils point to each word and repeat with correct pronunciation.

1. Teacher tells pupils that they’re going to listen to a song and ask them to guess what it’s going to be about.

2. Teacher plays the song and have pupils listen and sing along. (Track 21)

3. Pupils listen and number the stanzas accordingly.

1.  Pupils are told to read sentences in activity 3. (SB page 71)

2. Then, teacher explains to pupils the usage of pronouns in sentences.

3.  Pupils are asked simple questions verbally.

4.  Pupils then complete the bubble map with the correct pronouns. (worksheet)

5. Pupils are given worksheets based on pronouns.

1. Pupils are guided to answer the given worksheets based on pronouns. (notebook)

1. Pupils watch an animated short film on helping out.

1. Pupils are given a google form quiz.
