I currently teach as a private tutor in math, reading, and Spanish to k-6 learners.
I first learned about the Modern Classrooms Project from a Twitter post. I became a DMCE and mentor the year after completing the summer program.
One thing I love about MCP is that it is run by amazing, thoughtful, and intentional former educators. The quality of professional development is top-notch. I always feel valued and respected in this community, which is often rare working in education. I love making decisions rooted in research to inform my instructional practices, and that is threaded throughout the MCP work. I'm always a fan of finding ways to make the complex job of teaching simpler without compromising quality and connection.
When not at school, you can find me at a Nationals baseball game or at the playground with my toddler.
