Max Teaford, Ph.D.
Max is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Max received a doctorate in Brain, Cognitive and Developmental Science from Miami University and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Cleveland State University. Prior to becoming a faculty member at UTC Max simultaneously held positions as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and as a Visiting Scientist in the Acceleration and Sensory Sciences Department at the Naval Medical Research Unit - Dayton (NAMRUD).
Max conducts interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding the merging of information from different sensory modalities (i.e., multisensory integration) in the context of body ownership (i.e., the feeling that our body is our own) and spatial orientation (i.e., knowing where our body is relative to our external environment).
