In conjunction with ORNL, we are building an electron-phisiology lab at UTC to better understand the electric response of lipid bylayers in the presence of electrolytes and ion channels. Olivia Ziemer took part in the SULI 2024 to learn about the experimental procedures and how to construct the experimental apparatus. Also, as part of my VFP in the summer of 2024, I engaged in experiments and data analysis. I am now submitting numerous internal grants as well as a UT Alliance grant to get some of the necessary equipment.
