IMPORTANT NOTICE
Dear Student,
This serves as a formal and urgent reminder of The Maldives National University’s mandatory registration requirements for all enrolled students. Adhering to these requirements is crucial for ensuring a consistent, fair, and seamless academic experience for every student and staff member.
Mandatory Registration Requirements
Please be aware of the following regulations regarding formal course registration:
Restriction from Examinations: Students who are not formally registered for a course will not be permitted to sit the examinations for that course. This restriction applies irrespective of how the registration oversight may have occurred or where the situation may have arisen.
Restriction from Academic Activities: Students who are not formally registered for a course are not permitted to attend classes or participate in any academic activities, including practical sessions or the submission of assignments.
Student Responsibility
It is the sole responsibility of each student to ensure they are properly and formally registered for all the courses they attend. Failure to verify and complete proper registration will result in the immediate application of the restrictions outlined above.
Critical Deadlines
We strongly urge all students to adhere strictly to the published academic deadlines. Please note the following critical date for the 2026 academic year:
26 February 2026: Registration Deadline, Late Registration Deadline for New Students, and Deadline to Add Subjects & Change Courses.
These deadlines must be taken seriously. Failure to complete the necessary actions by the stated date will result in the application of the above restrictions.

All registration deadlines and important dates are available for viewing on the Academic Calendar located on the official MNU website. Please refer to this resource frequently to manage your academic commitments effectively.
This communication is issued to promote clarity and consistency, ensuring that all students and staff operate under the same clear set of rules. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these essential University policies.
