Experience: Joel is a graduate of Marple Newtown High School. He is a former accountant turned secondary math teacher. His teaching career began in southwest Philadelphia and took him to Haverford Township where he remained for 21 years. He served as the middle school athletic director, an assistant principal, and then for eleven years served as an elementary school principal. Joel is eager to give back to the community and profession that proved to be the catalyst to his adolescent growth. He is an avid reader of literature, non-fiction, and philosophy. Joel and his wife, Sharon, of 21-years live in Narberth with their three teenage boys and dog, Hugo. You can find him in his leisure moments walking with his dog in the Wissahickon, knocking the keys on the piano, or with a pen in hand writing. To help relieve stress, he bikes, swims, and studies martial arts. Among his greatest joys are spending time with his family and watching his boys play lacrosse or football.

Experience: Sheila is a former elementary and middle school STEM and Computer Science teacher, athletic coach, robotics coach, and curriculum developer in the Great Valley School District. Prior to coming to Marple Newtown School District in the Fall of 2022, Sheila served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in the Owen J. Roberts School District. She is passionate about working as a team to provide opportunities for students to learn and grow in their skills and knowledge within the fields of STEM. Outside of work, Sheila resides in West Chester where she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and the family’s dogs, reading, exercising, and going to the beach.

Experience: Brooke is a passionate educator who served as an Elementary Teacher in both the Cherry Hill Public School District and at The Haverford School. Upon leaving the classroom to pursue her love of literacy, she worked as a K-12 Literacy Consultant in the Greater Philadelphia Area and as an Early Literacy Specialist with Children’s Literacy Initiative. Most recently, Brooke served as an Assistant Principal in the School District of Philadelphia. Brooke resides in Malvern and enjoys spending time with her husband, their two boys, and their two Labradoodles.

Experience: Dawn graduated from Upper Darby High School and started her career as a Bank Teller. Dawn moved her way up the corporate ladder and was promoted to Senior Administrative Assistant with Sovereign National Bank in the Human Resources department. While working at Sovereign National Bank, she continued her education at Rosemont College studying HR Management. Dawn also comes to us from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as the HR Senior Administrative Assistant as well as GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. Dawn loves her family, painting, writing, the beach and going for walks to explore nature. Dawn is coming to us most recently from the important role of childcare provider and parent for her children, (Sabrina, Zack, and Zayden) who are students in MNSD. Dawn is excited to assist the Teaching and Learning Team and MNSD in any way she can!
