Dr. Nirav Patel (Member, IEEE) acquired his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology (presently Parul University), Vadodara, India, in 2014. He earned his M.Tech degree in Electrical Power Systems from the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, India, in 2016, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Power Electronics) from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, India, in April 2021.
He is currently working as a Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer at ENODA, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Prior to this, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow for Smart Grid with the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE), University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE, from October 2021 to March 2023. His expertise encompasses Power Electronics, Distributed Generation, Integration of Renewable Energy Sources, Power Quality Improvement, Microgrid, and related fields. One of his recent projects focuses on Microgrid test-bench development using the OPAL-RT (OP5700) and dSPACE control suites. He is also a Life Member of ISTE.
