Libraries – Encourage schools to connect with their local public librarians. There is no one size fits all and most local librarians will be eager to partner with schools during the COVID crises to support their learners and educators. Contact Leah Larson in State Library Services if a schools isn’t sure how to connect with libraries. Also all Minnesotans have access to the eLibrary Minnesota and eBooks Minnesota from their home based on their IP address. Many librarians are providing “live” storytimes on their Facebook and other social media pages.
NAFSCE - the National Association for Family, School, and Community Engagement (NAFSCE) is offering complimentary membership to their archived webinars, articles, and online community, Member Connect, through July 1, 2020 so that schools can share innovations and strategize around questions of partnering with families during the challenges of distance learning. Please share this opportunity with your staff, family-community and cultural liaisons, and school leaders.
