Welcome to Astronomy! This class is a 3rd and 4th year science elective, meaning that you chose to take this class for another science credit. In this class, we'll be talking all about the history of astronomy, spaceflight, as well as delving into great detail about the Solar System and other stars in the universe! This course is project-based, meaning that you will have multiple projects each unit. Mostly, these projects take the form of research papers, presentations, and interactive posters - since you are in the last few years of your high school career, my goal is to help you begin to prepare for what college-level introductory sciences classes may be like.
This class will be (almost) entirely paperless, so Google Classroom is your best friend! All assignments and notes will be posted there, and all assignments/projects will be turned into Classroom. We'll be using various Google applications, such as Google Drawings, Slides, Jamboards, and Docs. Therefore, you will need your Chromebook (and charger) every day. I also use ParentSquare to send important information to both parents and students.
